メンバーの脱退を経て製作された今作は、ポップを基調としていた前作までから一転し、よりポストロックやエレクトロニカ、シューゲイズに染まる中で、培ってきた音を引き継いでいる。ボーカル、ベーシスト、ドラマーと相次いだ脱退の中で活動を終える事も考えた中、継続の意志で表現したのが今作であり、ベーシスト不在の中で電子音も積極的に取り入れ柔軟に作られた楽曲群。単調な進行の中で徐々に盛り上がり、最後はらしさが溢れるM2「twilight sad」。 前作までのポップな印象を柔らかく包んだM3「sunshine state」。シンセサウンドを基盤に、変拍子の中に掛け合うギターリフとポエトリーな唄が印象的なM4「this is my lesson to you」。エッジの効いたギターの絡みで癖のあるM6「stranger」。 一見地味なサウンドの中にクールに繰り返す静と、轟音ギターが渦を巻く動を生み出すM7「stud city」。passive chord,stereo typeと対極なバンド活動をしてきたGt&Vo芹澤が楽曲を製作し、レコーディング～ミックスまで担当している。マスタリングは中村宗一郎氏。

Atsushi Nitta
Vanellope formed in Mar. 2011 as the band named “Yuichi Otabe Band” which mainly consisted of Nozomi Serizawa and Takahito Ikegami for the band, Passive Chord.
The first EP ”pack your stuff” was released in the next Mar. and the band started to perform some concerts constantly.
Atsushi Nitta (Samidare Shortcakes) joined as bassist in Sep. 2013.
The band started its carrer as Vanellope.
Yumi Serizawa (vocals) left the band in Nov. 2013
The second EP “goodbye,old sport” was released in Mar. 2014, which was recorded before Atsushi joined.
Takahito (drums) and Atsushi (bass guitar) left the band.
The band changed its image by adding drummer Kazuya Kobashi (SINKER / ex.Bye Bye Negatives) and pursuing a new direction.
The album “City With White And Gray” was released, which is the very 1st record with new members.
Takuya Ide ( ex.The Trust Blast / The Restaurant) supported as bassist in Jul. 2015.
